25 free resume templates for India: freshers, IT, government jobs, teachers, doctors and more

Free Indian resume templates for freshers, IT, government biodata, CTET teachers, doctors, CA and banking. Build online, download PDF or Word.

Indian recruiters don't all want the same resume. A product company in Bengaluru wants one ATS-friendly page with your GitHub, a government notification wants a biodata with your father's name and a signed declaration, and a CBSE school checks your B.Ed and CTET score before anything else.

The JobPLT CV Builder has 25 free Indian resume templates, each built for one of these situations. Here's which one to pick. (For the general rules of an Indian CV, see our Indian CV format guide.)

Frequently asked questions

Which resume format is best for freshers in India?

For campus placements, use a format that puts education first with a marks table (degree, board or university, year and percentage or CGPA), followed by projects and internships. Our Fresher / Campus template does this; MBA graduates should use the MBA / Management Graduate template, which adds summer internship and positions of responsibility.

What is a biodata format for government jobs?

A biodata puts personal particulars first (name, father's name, date of birth, nationality), then a table of educational qualifications, exams qualified, employment details and a signed declaration. Use the Government Biodata template, and match every detail exactly to your certificates.

Should I add a photo to my resume in India?

It's optional. Private-sector and MNC employers usually prefer no photo, so the Modern Professional, Product Company and Plain ATS templates leave it out. Government, school and Gulf applications often include one, and templates such as Government Biodata and School Teacher have a photo slot.

Is a declaration needed at the end of an Indian resume?

Government, PSU and many school applications expect a signed declaration. Private-sector recruiters usually don't. The templates that need it include it, and you can switch it on or off in Manage sections.

Which template should I use for Naukri and LinkedIn?

Plain ATS (Naukri / LinkedIn): black and white, single column, Arial, standard headings. It's the safest format for job portals that read your resume automatically. Add the exact skills from the job post to the Key Skills section.

Is it free to download my resume as PDF and Word?

Yes. All 25 Indian templates download as PDF and Word for free, without a watermark.
