Nurse and doctor CV templates for India, Germany, Australia and the UAE: which licence goes first

Free CV templates for nurses and doctors in India, Germany, Australia and the UAE, and where to put your licence: NMC, Approbation, AHPRA, DHA.

In healthcare, your CV has a gatekeeper: your licence. Hospitals and agencies check your registration, licence or eligibility before they read anything about your experience, and every country uses a different one. Put it at the bottom of page two and your application may be set aside before anyone reaches it.

The JobPLT CV Builder has free healthcare templates for all four countries we cover. Each one starts with the credential that country's employers check first.

The licence each country checks first

What to write in the licence section

Keep it to a few lines and copy details exactly as they appear on your certificate:

Experience that healthcare recruiters can picture

For each role, say where and how big, not just what your job title was:

Then add life-support certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS, ALS) with their dates.

Allied health, aged care and support work

The builder also covers the wider healthcare team:

Moving between countries

Many nurses and doctors build their careers across these countries, for example from India to the UAE, or from the UAE to Australia or Germany. Build your CV once in the template for the country you're in, then use Copy for… to create the version for the next country. Your experience moves across, and the copy follows the new country's rules, for example dropping the photo and date of birth for Australia.

Templates for each country are listed in our guides for India, Germany, Australia and the UAE.

Frequently asked questions

What should come first on a nurse's CV?

Your registration or licence: the body, the number, the type and the expiry or validity. In every country we cover, healthcare employers check it before reading your experience, so all our healthcare templates put it at the top.

Can I use the same CV for nursing jobs in Australia and the UAE?

Your experience can stay the same, but the format changes: an Australian résumé has no photo or date of birth and shows AHPRA registration and checks, while a UAE CV usually has a photo, nationality and visa status and shows your DHA, DOH or MOHAP licence and DataFlow status. Build one, then use Copy for… to create the other.

How do I show a foreign medical degree on a German CV?

Use the Ärztin / Arzt or Pflege & Gesundheit template and list the status of your recognition (Anerkennung), Kenntnisprüfung and language exams (for example Fachsprachprüfung at C1) in the first section, along with your Approbation or Berufserlaubnis once you have it.

What is the AHPRA standard CV format?

AHPRA asks for a CV that lists your qualifications and every position with start and end month and year, in order, with no unexplained gaps. The Medical Practitioner (AHPRA CV) template follows this structure.
