Applying for HR & Recruiting jobs in Australia

HR roles cover recruiting and talent acquisition, HR business partners, payroll, learning and development, and people operations. Employers look for experience with HR systems (such as Workday or SAP SuccessFactors), local employment practice and, for recruiters, a track record of hires in a given field.

For roles abroad, show the countries and labour markets you know, and quantify your work: positions filled, time to hire, programmes run.

Australian employers usually ask about your work rights first: whether you're a citizen or resident, hold a visa that lets you work, or need sponsorship. Skilled and employer-sponsored visas exist for in-demand occupations; requirements change, so check the Department of Home Affairs at immi.homeaffairs.gov.au.

Australian résumés leave out the photo, date of birth and marital status, state your work rights clearly and usually finish with two referees. See our guide to the Australian résumé and the free Australian resume templates.
